My Favorite Poem

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight,
To cool in the peppermint wind.
Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black,
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.
Yes we’ll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we’ll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.

Shel Silverstein

I like this poem because this poem is very metaphoric about the nature, which I enjoy a lot. It also tells a lot about the enjoyment of the environment.

My Favorite Toy

This was the souvenir toy I brought back from Lego Land, California. I still remember the day I came back, I had already ripped open the box to start working on it. I had to have some help from my brother for a while, but after a few times, I got the hang of it. Even though I was in 2nd grade, with no homework, the project still took me over a month because it was so complicated. But after those days were over, I was drivin’ like a maniac.

I played with it every time my mom didn’t give me something to do, which was basically less than an hour everyday. Ah, youth is golden…so that meant about 5 hours for drag races, cool stunts, crashes, and my favorite, car washes.

After about 100 car washes, the little steering wheel started to get really sticky. But at that age, I didn’t know what was going on, so more times the little red Ferrari went into the shower. The pieces started to get lost and after a few more weeks, it wouldn’t even drive anymore. That was also the year my mom got my brother and I a computer. As more and more days pass, the thought of that little red car gets shoved farther and farther into the back of my mind as new computer games refresh it everyday. So now, that Californian souvenir just sits on the top shelf of my bookcase and collects dust.

My City

Austin is the best place I could wish for. I mean what place has an iFly, a JumpStreet, a TopGolf, plus the best weather in one place! What place seems better that this? Austin is a great place to go on vacation because of the great fun you could have here!
Firstly, Austin has the coolest buildings a city could offer, such as a TopGolf. TopGolf is a huge golfing area where the balls have sensors to tell you how far and how accurate you are! You get infinite balls so don’t worry about running out! More cool buildings include the Austonian, a 27-story building in downtown Austin, and the iFly, a free-fall simulator. There are plenty of activities for you to enjoy on your visit to Austin!
Moving on, Austin has the perfect weather for any of your planned activities. Any walk in the park or game of frisbee will always be enjoyed with the bright sunshine and cool weather! Get out of the hotel and play in the luscious grass and shining sun! The outdoors will always be a nice place to be!
Austin has many great things planned for you, so all you need to do is plan a trip! Austin is the best place to take your next vacation, so do it now!
