I am from…

I am from friendship,
From milk and coffee.

I am from the joyous smell of cookies,
I am from the bush,
The orange tree whose long limbs I remember as if they were my own.

I’m from Christmas decorations and turkeys for thanksgiving,
From Mom and Dad.

I’m from soccer games and building with Legos,
From Chinese New Year.

I’m from Austin and China, Rice and beans,
From Mom’s life in China without her parents,
Located right in my heart because she’s told me so many times.

A normal week

This week nothing special has happened. I wake up, go to school, finish school, come home, do homework, and then go back to sleep. Sometimes I like this, but sometimes I don’t. I like it because I don’t have to think about anything special or important thing coming up in the future, but I don’t like it because it sort of becomes a routine in my life.

Halloween!!

This Halloween I went trick-or-treating with my friends. We went through my neighborhood and another neighborhood just to get about 20 lbs of candy! It will probably take me the whole year just to eat that much candy!

The All-Region Orchestra Audition

This Saturday I had a audition for All-Region for viola. I was feeling very nervous about the audition so I practiced the three audition pieces over and over again. As I started to play, I forgot everything about being nervous and just started to play. There was nothing on my mind as I played through my pieces. After I was finished I felt very good about it. I think this was a life experience.

The Soccer Team

This week we had another soccer game. Although we lost 6-1 I was still glad that I scored another goal. The other team was way too good to be playing us, so I think we still played good. I wish we had played a more even team, so we could have had a chance of winning.

The Giver

So far in The Giver, Jonas has been nervous about what his assignment would be. I am also very curious to see what job he is going to get. He has also seen a change in the apple, which seems a little strange to me.  The last thing I wonder about is why the book is called The Giver.

The Goal

I am excited to start my first post! Last summer, I signed up for a Lone star soccer team. The team was fairly good, but not that good. The week before school started our team went to Houston for a tournament. Our team played three games in the grueling heat and lost all 3.

The next tournament we had was in Round Rock. This time we had won the first game because of a penalty kick. The second game we lost because they had two lucky goals by our goalie. The third game we won because I scored!!!!
